TERMS & CONDITIONS

PAYMENTS, REFUNDS, AND CANCELLATIONS

Sicily Artist Retreats takes pride in creating an exceptional experience for our guests. However we understand that plans can change. The following refund policy is designed to balance flexibility for our participants with the financial commitments required to organize a high-quality retreat.

 

1. Retreat Pricing and Payment
Retreat pricing varies based on earlybird discounts, instructor fees, materials, and transportation to sites within Sicily.
Full payment is required at the time of registration to secure your place. We do not offer deposit-based reservations. For added flexibility, we partner with Klarna, AfterPay, and Affirm, allowing participants to spread payments over time.

 

2. Participant Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made more than four (4) months prior to the workshop start date are eligible for a 50% refund. Cancellations made within four (4) months of the start date are non-refundable.

 

3. Cancellation by Sicily Artist Retreats
In the event that Sicily Artist Retreats must cancel a retreat due to insufficient enrollment, instructor illness, or circumstances beyond our control—including but not limited to natural disasters, travel disruptions, or global events—all payments made to Sicily Artist Retreats will be fully refunded.
Sicily Artist Retreats is not responsible for any additional expenses incurred by participants, including flights, independent accommodations, or other travel-related costs.

 

4. Travel, Health, and Responsibility
Participants are responsible for ensuring they are able to travel in accordance with all applicable health, entry, and transit requirements, and for obtaining valid passports, visas, and any necessary documentation.

 

Sicily Artist Retreats is not responsible for disruptions due to illness (including COVID-19), government regulations, airline cancellations, or other travel-related issues. Participants assume responsibility for their personal safety, belongings, and well-being during the retreat.
 

We strongly recommend that all participants purchase comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, interruption, medical care, and travel-related risks. Sicily Artist Retreats is not liable for losses, damages, injuries, delays, or inconveniences arising from participation in the retreat or from circumstances beyond our control.

Reputable providers include Allianz Travel Insurance, Travel Guard (AIG), IMG Global, World Nomads, Travelex, and Seven Corners, among others. Participants should select a policy that includes trip cancellation, interruption, and medical coverage appropriate to their needs.

 

5. Prices and Inclusions
Unless otherwise stated, retreat pricing includes instruction (instructor, studio, and model fees), accommodations for the duration of the workshop, admission to scheduled sites, a welcome dinner, and in-studio lunches when applicable. While admission to planned sites is typically included, certain optional visits or activities may require separate payment.

 

Participants are required to bring the materials listed by the instructor for their workshop. Alternatively, certain supplies may be covered through a Paint Pass or Plein Air Kit equipment rental, where offered. We recommend referring to the workshop materials list for details on what is included and what is available in the studio.
